Estate One Company Limited is committed to making Nihongo usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

1What we do

• Readable type: respects your system text size / dynamic type; furigana can be toggled on for kanji.
• Contrast & themes: light and dark themes designed to meet AA contrast.
• Screen readers: labelled controls and meaningful reading order for VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android); semantic markup on the web.
• Keyboard & focus: web controls are reachable and operable by keyboard with visible focus.
• Audio: adjustable playback speed; text is shown alongside audio so listening is not required.
• Motion: we honor "reduce motion" where the platform exposes it.

2Conformance status

Nihongo is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA: most of the app meets the standard, and we are actively fixing the parts that don't yet. Third-party content and some complex interactions (e.g., handwriting input, stroke animations) may have gaps we're working to close.

3Compatibility

Best experienced with current versions of iOS/Android and major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) with the platform screen reader enabled.
