Nihongo lets members share example sentences and readings and upvote helpful ones. To keep it useful and safe, these Guidelines apply to all content you submit or share (the community library, shared readings, notes, and anything visible to others). They are part of the Terms of Service. Breaking them can lead to content removal and account suspension or termination.
✓Post content that is…
- Your own, or that you have the right to share.
- On-topic for learning Japanese (real, natural sentences, useful readings).
- Respectful of others.
✕Do not post or share content that:
- Infringes copyright or other rights — e.g., text copied from books, manga, lyrics, articles, textbooks, or paywalled sites, or photos of others' copyrighted material. Submit your own sentences or material you're licensed to use.
- Is illegal or promotes illegal acts.
- Is hateful, harassing, threatening, or bullying, or attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.
- Is sexually explicit, or sexualizes or endangers minors in any way (zero tolerance — we report child sexual abuse material to authorities).
- Contains private or personal information about anyone (yours or others'), such as addresses, phone numbers, IDs, or login details.
- Is spam, advertising, scams, or deceptive, or links to malware.
- Is graphically violent or designed to shock.
- Impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation.
- Attempts to manipulate rankings/votes or abuse the AI features.
18_up_ratingThe app may include an optional explicit/slang ("🔞") section that is off by default. Educational slang is allowed in designated areas; gratuitous obscenity, slurs used to demean, and the prohibited content above are not.
§Moderation & enforcement
- We may use automated and human review and remove content or limit accounts at our discretion. We are not obligated to monitor all content.
- Content you submit to public areas may be analyzed by AI (for breakdowns and safety) and seen by other users. Do not share anything you want kept private.
- We may keep records of removed content as needed for safety and legal compliance.
§Reporting & appeals
- Report content that breaks these Guidelines via the in-app report option or by emailing support@bynetica.com. For copyright, see the Copyright / DMCA Policy.
- If you believe we removed your content in error, you may appeal by emailing support@bynetica.com.
We may update these Guidelines; the current version governs.
